Jorma Panula is one of the most recognized and admired teaching conductors nowadays. He reared a few now famous young conductors, such as Esa-Pekka Salonen,  Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Osmo Vänska, Niklas Villen, Petri Sakari, Ari  Rasilainen, Tuomas Ollila, Sakari Oramo, Mikko Frank etc.  Maestro Panula has been a professor of the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki from 1973 until 1993 and taught at the Stockholm Royal Academy and Copenhagen Royal Academy. He was principal conductor of the Helsinki Philharmonic and from 1963 to 1997 he served as artistic director of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra of Finland and the Aarhus Symphony of Denmark. Today Maestro Panula works as a guest conductor and trains conductors all over the world United States, Russia, Sweden, Italy, Spain, France and Australia.

Information about the course.

The repertoire consists of the late Mozart symphonies, first seven Beethoven, all Brahms symphonies, first five Sibelius symphonies, Faun Debussy, Sacre Stravinsky (only difficult spots). If you want to do other pieces: ask.

Applications before 01 august 2010, final list of students 15 august 2010. The coursefee is € 800.
